This project location was started in 2009.

• Selected two students from Akola as Akhar scholars, based on their performance in the 10th standard.
• Akhar bears all the educational expenses of these students, from uniform, books, tuition fees and conveyance.
• These Akhar scholars have started classes for other kids in the area, from Jan'2010.

Present Activities

• 3 month Gurmat training camp is going on.
• Akhar is helping in getting all the children in the area to school. Admissions are due to start in a couple of weeks. 
  

Future Plans

• SDP (Skill Development Program), all the ladies who are enrolled in AAEP will be given training in stitching and embroidery.
• Organizing quarterly competitions among various deras of North Maharashtra.

This area was taken up by Akhar in Jan'09.

• Students who had dropped out of schools, joined night classes, and appeared for 10th grade exams.
• 22 students enrolled in balwadi schools.
• conducted gurmat and punjabi camps in 2008 and 2009.
• constructed Gurudwara and Learning centre with the help of local sangat in 2009. Gurudwara doubles up as classroom for students.
• hired a permanent teacher, since April 2009.
